One of my favorite writers in the New Age movement – though I’m sure he probably doesn’t consider himself new age or old age – is Wayne Dyer. Wayner Dyer has written a very powerful book called Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life. I do not agree with the eastern methodology that Wayne Dyer uses to impliment this chage, simply because it is only effective for those already advanced spiritually and does not advance humanity as a whole. However, his point is very true. If you change the way you see life and if you change the way you see G-d, life will change, and G-d will also change. This isn’t because life or G-d was ever “bad” or unfair or cruel in the first place, but such was your perception of life. The downfall with new age psychology that Dr Dyer and Mr. Eckhart Tolle use is that it is merely metaphysical psychology, but nevertheless no more than psychology of a physical or rather METAphysical nature, the reasoning of this world. If there is one thing that we have noticed through history, that thing is that we can not truly implement change by studying causes of crisis in this world. In other words, even if I know exactly what the human reasoning is for my behaviour, I am still not going to be able to change it. I can use a personal example. For 26 years, I suffered with chronic depression. I wen’t to numerous psychologists over the course of about 10 years and I could sit down, tell them exactly what was wrong with me, who I need to forgive, what medication I need to take and how much of it. Point being, I knew the causes of my suffereing and yet was not able to impliment any change with this knowledge. This knowledge in fact is no different than the tree of knowledge of good and evil – I know the difference between them I even know what events in this world cause the evil within me, and yet I am not able to change any of it. Why? Because all that this physical world is made of is really caused, or made by the invisible worlds, or Upper Forces. Hence, how can you change something in this world by studying this world if this world has no power to change itself. Rather, only from Above, the root causes of thsi world, can any change be implemented in this world. Hence, no change will take place in this world unless we study not the causes of THIS world, but rather study the Upper Forces that cause the events in this world. There is only one such science that does this, a spiritual science called The Science of Kabbalah. It teaches you to think differently, to see differently, to be able to implement change in this world and even the reason WHY we are able to implement tremendous changes in this world merely by doing inner work. By inner work I am not referring to mysticism, meditation, contemplation of any kind. By inner work I mean the studying of the root causes, the Upper Forces, of all that the human soul goes through in this world. This is a very complex science that has a very simple purpose – the correction of human perception for “The Revelation of His Godliness to His creature.”
We live in a world full of opinions and beliefs. We all believe in something…some believe in the existence of a Higher Power, others believe in Higher Powers, and still others believe in their own Higher Power. The craziness lies in the fact that everyone needs to be correct and whoever doesn’t agree with “my” view is going to hell, isn’t saved, is a moron, is a religious fanatic, a witch, or a dumb atheist – and all we have are disagreements and walls of separation. There is only one way to the Father, and that is through The Son…right??? A vast majority of Americans are Christians, and as a Jew I find myself torn between Christianity and Judaism…so I find the middle line…something that I can sink my teeth into and stand on one foot instead of having one foot in Christianity and the other in Judaism. That middle line is called Kabbalah. It seems like everything in life runs down three lines. For instance, we have, good, bad, and neutral. We have evil, holy, and again neutral. Hot, cold, comfortable…bright, dark, and not too bright and not too dark…Seems like in life the best choice of the 3 lines is the middle line. Let’s say we have 3 lines, if one line is Religion and the other is Atheism, the middle line is The Creator…seems like the best choice we have is in the middle. In life, it seems we must find a balance…the balance is always right there in the middle…that middle line between religion and atheism is Kabbalah. I am not speaking about Kabbalah that is known as Jewish mysticism or gnosticism. Imagine that we are in a laboratory full of instruments and experiments…the problem is, we can’t see any of the laboratory because we aren’t equipped to percieve it – like being in a dark room. We aren’t in this lab for just a day, but for the entire duration of our life in this body. We can survive in this laboratory, find food, mate, job…but unless we learn to percieve the laboratory as it truly is and learn how to use all of the equipment, we will never be fullfilled – we’ll always feel emptier. The more we’ll try and fill ourselves with whatever we think will make us happy, the emptier we will feel. The only way to fill this emptiness is to learn about the lab we’re in and the science that is involved in using all of the tools and experiments in this lab. How can we do this? Well if you walk into a dark room and can’t see anything…if someone explains to you in great detail about all of the obstructions in your path and what is what and where, you will be able to form a picture of it in your mind and though you can’t see it with your eyes, you’ll be able to not only navigate your way through this room, this laboratory, but you will also be able to utilize all of the benefitial instruments and tools in this room, this laboratory, as though you can actually see it. What I am talking about is a spiritual science, the science of life – Kabbalah. I have looked through many books regarding Kabbalah and have found only one true source that bears witness with my soul – Baal HaSulam. All that I will be writing is based upon my observations of the spiritual through the writings of Baal Hasulam, Rabash, and Rav Michael Laitman as well as daily lessons that Rav Laitman holds at Kab.tv and the multitude of articles and video and audio classes at Kabbalah.info.
